History: Madoc is the son of Sadrick Geldran (a Weaponsmith) and Mia Geldran. His full name is Madoc Darnel Geldran. In the current year he is 17. He has two sisters, Stedda Rose (12) and Scalia Piala (8), Scalia was Named after his grandmother (who had recently died).

There was never any doubt that Madoc would become a Weaponsmith. Sadrick took every opportunity to ensure his son appreciated his art and Madoc was a willing pupil. In fact, Madoc's life was textbook dwarf (some would say boring) until he was 14, spending time at his father's side. Then one day, Sadrick caught a human boy Named Sarfin trying to steal from his shop.

Discovering Sarfin was alone and living on the streets, Perose Geldran (paternal grandfather), in typical dwarven fashion, decided that it was the family's duty to ensure the boy did not fall into a life of crime and to provide him with a trade when he grew up. Thus, Sarfin the human found himself surrounded by dwarves and learning to forge weapons.

Later in the same year, Pel Strata (Madoc's uncle - a merchant by trade) and his daughter, Media, were killed by robbers. The whole family went into shock. Even Scalia Geldran's (grandmother) death 5 years before had not been as bad because she had been old and sick and her death had been expected.

Gucos Xylos (his cousin, who was a travelling Adept at the time) slipped through to show that an individual could make a great difference to evil in the world. Faced with violent death for the first time, Madoc decided something must be done. While the guards were naturally investigating, Madoc felt they were not doing enough and took up the case himself.

His friend, Sarfin, disabused him of the notion that he could do anything single handedly. Together, aided by Sarfin's knowledge of the streets, they would have a better chance and so they started their investigation.

Naturally, they failed. They stuck their noses into one too many doors and got beaten up by an aggravated ork. Madoc's nose was broken. The killers were tracked down by some Adepts who were searching for a kidnapped woman. They rescued her and killed two of the three criminals. It turned out that Media's death was an accident.

After his "adventure", Madoc found himself the centre of the whole family's attention and several lectures. At Mia's insistance, the bereaved Aunt Tesha and her family moved in. Sarfin, Madoc and Perose spent a lot of time doing extensive extensions to the family home.

Madoc continued his apprenticeship as a Weaponsmith. However, after a couple of years, it was apparent that Madoc was set on the life of a travelling Adept. Although his family was naturally worried, it was decided that if he was going to do this, he should learn how to do it properly.

Gucos was roped in to teach him how to fight, and when he came of age, Perose took him into the wilderness and gave him traditional training in how to survive. He also learned the human language and how to survive on the streets from Sarfin.

Sarfin, meanwhile, took to the dwarven way of life and decided to become a maker of weapons, rather than a user of them.

At seventeen, Madoc feels that he has the skills to travel the world and make it a better place.
