Umm, I mean scholars... Gaius Julius Caesar was born on the 12th July, in the year of the wolf. (The year is now dated 27BC.) He was born in the village of Mortize, which is now the capital of Verindium. By the age of 21, he had become the warleader of the Mortize, due to skill rather than position. After three years leading the humans against orc armies, he realised they could not defeat them alone and set about arranging a meeting between the various races. This took three years and finalized in the hamlet of Rome. For the next ten years, Caesar led the allied races until the orcs were soundly defeated. Caesar set up Rome and arranged the founding of the Imperium, dividing the known land among the races as they saw fit, and set the Roman system of government. He ruled the Imperium from Rome until the 129th year of the Imperium on the 12th of July. Still young and vital, Gaius Julius set off in search of Jonah's Crown and was never seen again. His son Janus Caesar ruled in his absence for 10 years before being crowned ruler of the empire in his own right. Where Caesar went is subject of much speculation. The obvious answer is the Sea of Jonah, among the many scattered isles. Another common theory is that the crown was stolen by Ophelia at the Battle of the Gods and is buried with her in the Stardust Mountains. Where exactly the Stardust Mountains are is unknown. One theory holds that the Stardust Mountains are the Moradin Mountains and the Blasphemy Mountains are due to Ophelia's corruption. Another holds that they are in the wilderness which is now Ophelia's land. A more fanciful theory holds that the crown is located in Felspa. Caesar looked, according to elven reports, pretty much as he is shown in his statues. He was a human with no elven blood. Yet, he lived for over 150 years without obvious ageing beyond 30. This has not been noted in any of his descendants. One theory is that the grass crown that Caesar wore throughout the wars was in fact Jonah's Crown. If this is so, what happened to it and why did Caesar need to find it? Was it a gift of the Gods that held his age in check so long as he possessed it? If so, a radical theory that he went into the orc lands to retrieve it mat be correct.
