CARADOC
(Player - Michelle Wilcox)

Family

The concept of family is virtually non-existent to the Daoine Sidhe. While they are always concerned with the issue of reproduction, there are no marriages, or doting grandparents, or even a single, bonded parent. The birth of any child is a cause of great celebration throughout the entire Faerie realm since it is such a rare occurrence. Because of this fact, these little bundles of joy are shared equally among everyone.

Babies are passed from mother to mother to father to father so all can, for a short time, experience looking after a child. This does not mean that there are no true ties between these Noble Faeries. In a way, they are all brothers and sisters, under the guidance of one mother - the Queen. They are all her children, no matter if they are born of pure Faerie blood, a mixture of mortal and Faerie blood, or the offspring of purely mortal blood secreted anyway from their true parents in the middle of the night.

Birthday

To be honest, Caradoc doesn't remember his origins, be it Faerie or mortal. Once a child is integrating into the world of the Noble Faeries, that is what they become - Daoine Sidhe. There is no such thing as a half-Faerie.

Birthdays are very important to Noble Faeries. No-body really knows why, but they are always well kept secrets. If a person can discover, to the very day, how old one of these creatures are, they then possess a terribly powerful control over it. Understandably, Daoine Sidhe are very secretive about their birth dates when dealing with mortals. (Psst! - his birthday is Midsummer's Night Eve and he's 537 when first sent to the Imperium.)

Motivation

Caradoc has reached that stage of maturity when Queen Titania feels he needs to learn about the world of mortals. His time of sending was celebrated with the usual pomp and ceremony of lavish eating, drinking, dancing and story-telling which ended (for Caradoc anyway) in his journey out of Annfwn.

Caradoc was supposed to be sent to Wales. Unfortunately, he didn't quite make it.

Enemies

As the Queen weaved her spell of teleportation, a dark-eyed Daoine Sidhe called Macbeth "accidentally" dropped a ball of fine crystal beside her chair, momentarily distracting Titania at the critical moment of casting. Caradoc disappeared, but unknown to Titania, the spell transported him to the wrong world.

The Noble Faerie called Macbeth apologised profusely for frightening his beloved queen and directed attention away from the fact that something may have gone wrong with the spell. Soon, Caradoc was completely forgotten as the wine flowed freely and a lively dance was joined in by all. All the while, Macbeth grinned like the cat who had stole the farmer's milk and no coxing would encourage him to speak what he was so happy about.

Of course, Macbeth's accidental dropping of the crystal ball had been no accident. Macbeth, who was a few decades older than the just departed Caradoc, had watched for many years as the Queen had shown great favour with her subject Caradoc. She and he would spend many hours playing chess which Macbeth thought he was quite good at playing. Though it would seem a petty thing to a mortal, Macbeth was willing to cause the demise of a fellow Faerie in order to take his place as the Queen's chess partner.

Jealousy is an extremely strong emotion in Daoine Sidhe and that is dangerous in a race with little concept of responsibility or morality. Macbeth is determined to make sure that Caradoc never has the chance to return to Annfwn.

Allies

Caradoc hopes someone will remember he's gone and wonders why he doesn't return to visit every now and again.

Goals

Originally, Caradoc's one goal in life was to produce a child (or a dozen). When he learnt of his approaching journey to Earth, he decided that he would also make good use of his time there by trying to find a new type of musical instrument or dance to take home for his Queen.

With his sudden and bewildering appearance on this strange world (which he suspects is definitely not Wales) Caradoc now has a new and considerably more important goal - to find a way home within 12 months. Caradoc knows if he cannot find a gateway home, he will surely perish. His Home Hop ability is useless to him because he has no idea where Annfwn is in relation to this dimension and to try and teleport without detailed information could mean certain death or an even worse situation than he's already in.

In his travels, Caradoc will also learn that he secretly wishes to understand the mortal concept of responsibility.

Meetings

Depending on where the adventure begins, Caradoc will be found wandering lost and confused at being shut off from his home world of Annfwn. Having not met a mortal in any form before, he will be very suspicious of anyone who approaches him.
