    Background History

Origin: Heather was born in Yellow Springs, a tiny village "in the middle of nowhere" - as she would describe it. Her father is a wood cutter and her mother, a seamstress. They lived in a small wooden house on the outskirts of the village. Heather was an active child and loved running footraces - which she usually won. As she grew older, Heather helped her mother with the sewing. Heather did not like sewing - she did not like having to sit all day in the one place - but she had no other choice. As with most young village girls, her future seemed to be set in stone. She would marry some "nice" farmer's son and would settle down to do her part in creating and raising the next generation of Yellow Spring folk. She even knew who her future husband would be! In a village that small, as soon as a child was born the parents were busy matchmaking. He was a pleasant enough fellow, but Heather, however, had other plans. As soon as the opportunity arose, she was going to leave Yellow Springs and head for a big city. There she would find a life, and possibly a husband, of her own choice!
